The renovations to O’Brien Hall continue. Walls have been painted, draperies are being made, a coat closet built, and now the electrical work has begun. We needed a professional electrician to rewire for the new lighting which will combine both incandescent and florescent lights. The new lighting will be more energy efficient as well as aesthetically pleasing. Our Special Collections to fund this project as well as the purchase of new riding mower...and eventually the porch-deck of the Rectory have already netted more than $8,000. The next second collection dates for these special projects are this weekend, August 16/17, then September 6/7, and September 20/21. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
Our volunteer teams will be called this week to begin to schedule them for the various projects that remain to be done, including installing the floor coving and lights in the hall, painting the coat closet, hanging wall décor, painting in the Pope Benedict Center, in the reconciliation rooms in church, and installing shelving and organizing materials in our Art & Environment Room in the church.
