Life Teen Mass

In believing that the Mass and the Eucharist is the center of our lives as Catholics, once a month we offer Life Teen Mass. During Life Teen Mass, the teens of our parish participate in the Mass ministries, such as being lectors, helping with music ministry, being an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, and greeting members of the Parish as they arrive. Having the teens be a part of these ministries attaches them to the greater life of the Parish, and they can take ownership in being an active member of St. Benedict the Abbot Parish.

Get involved in Mass Ministries !

Lectors- Proclaim the Word of God during Life Teen Mass! Lectors help with the 1st and 2nd readings and the Intentions.

Greeters and Ushers- One of the goals in our Life Teen Community is to welcome members of the Parish to Mass and to make them feel a part of this wonderful experience. Help pass out song sheets, welcome people as the enter church, and assist in taking up the collection.

Altar Servers- Altar Servers help the priest during the Mass with everything from getting the Altar prepared for Holy Communion to collecting the gifts brought up by the gift bearers, and walking the crucifix down the aisle at the beginning and the end of Mass.

Gift Bearers- Gift bearers bring up the bread and the wine to the priest who is located on the Altar, so they can be changed into the body and blood of Christ.

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist- This is a special ministry for our High School Teens who are 18 years old. Join this very special ministry to administer the Body and Blood of Christ to the congregation during Holy Communion. Teens must go through a special training to be a part of this ministry.

Music Ministry- Music Ministry leads the congregation in worship of God though song. Greg Fincham is the music leader for the band.
