Son World Adventure Park VBS
“Son World Adventure Park”

Get your tickets now for the ride of your life! “Son World Adventure Park” VBS will arrive at St. Benedict the Abbot Parish during the week of July 21-25 from 8:45 am to 12:00 noon. Children entering grades K-4 in September 2008 are welcome to join the fun. More details and registration info will be mailed out soon. Adult volunteers and camp counselors should contact Colette or Cathy in the Religious Ed Office to offer their time and talents.

This summer our VBS campers will go on a wild ride and we are inviting the entire parish to join us! The VBS team is planning a “Son World Adventure Park” Picnic and Carnival to take place on Saturday, July 26 from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 pm. We are combining efforts with the Parish Picnic committee to make this event a true community “fun-raiser” for everyone! So, don’t delay, get in on the fun and help us plan a life-changing ride for all! Don’t forget to hold on to your hats and glasses—we warned you, it’s a wild ride!

VBS is a popular summer program held for children who will be entering grades K-4 in the fall of 2007. This weeklong program is based upon a daily Bible story and is thematically developed throughout the day's activities. Lively music, games, crafts, snacks and skits make up the day which begins at 8:45 until 12:00 Noon. The participation of teenaged camp counselors makes VBS a popular week. Young people entering grades 7 through 12 are eligible for this special ministry, especially those students in need of service hours for Confirmation. These spaces fill up quickly so fill out the registration form as soon as you receive it in the Spring.

Did you know that over 200 children attend VBS every summer? We are very happy about that, but we are in need of many adult volunteers to help make VBS safe and successful. So, if you are looking for a worthwhile and fun opportunity next summer, consider offering your time and talents to VBS 2007— you'll be glad you did, and we will too! For more information, contact Colette in the Religious Education Office.
