Calling All 5th & 6th Grade Adventure Seekers
Carnival time is fast approaching and our 5th and 6th graders are playing an integral part! this year's Vacation Bible School, "SonWorld Adventure Park", will be held July 21 through July 25 culminating with our Parish Carnival/Picnic on Saturday, July 26.
Our "team" will be assisting in the preparation of the Parish Carnival as part of their Vacation Bible School schedule. Along with their Bible studies, games and fun, they will be learning how to create and run the Carnival "midway" games. This should be a great learning experience for them and an opportunity for them to shine in a role of responsibility and teamwork! They will have an opportunity to put their creative skills to work as we plan, design and create the Carnival "Midway" games for the enjoyment of the entire parish. We have Teen Counselors who will be working along side of them every step of the way, as well.
Our session will begin at 8:45 am daily . . . EXCEPT in the event of rain. Due to the limited space indoors, our schedule will be CANCELLED if its raining. We will provide snacks and beverages, and we will be wrapping up the session at 12:15 pm daily. You must fill out a registration form. You will also need to fill out a permission slip/medical form and return it to us by July 11.
We will be tie-dying our shirts on Monday and playing water games on Tuesday, so be sure to wear old clothes on those days. OUr T-shirts should be ready to wear by Wednesday.
As always, parental involvement is crucial to a successful program for our children. We are still in need of parents to volunteer during the week to help prepare our snacks and to assist in overseeing the children's activities.
For those of you who generously volunteered to help out on Friday evening, we apologize for the misinformation, but the Carnival will be Saturday ONLY. We are in dire need of additional help chaperoning as our team works the games on Saturday from 12:00 until 4:00 pm, so if you can spare an hour or two, it would be most appreciated.
